Punks Backyard Ultra: The ultimate test of endurance - a new exciting athletic challenge Hello everyone, The first edition of Punk's Backyard Ultra, a unique athletic race concept known for its grueling test of endurance and mental toughness, is being held in North Macedonia for the first time in order to redefine the limits of athletic endurance. With its exciting but terrifying challenge, this ultra-marathon, hosted by the spa complex Negorski Banji, and organized by the TREX Association from Skopje assisted by Athletic club 7mi Noemvri Gevgelija, is ready to attract the most determined and adventurous runners from the region. Punk's Backyard Ultra is a testament to the human spirit and endurance, challenging participants to push their perceived limits. The race format is really simple, but uniquely challenging - runners complete a 6.7km lap within an hour, and once the hour is up, they have to start the next lap. The race continues until only one runner is left standing - a true test of mental toughness and physical endurance. The event promises to be an exciting and unforgettable experience, with a tempting trail route through the Velotlon Park near Negorci, which has been laid out to test the endurance of the runners and showcase the natural beauty of the surroundings. To arrive at the spa complex, follow the signs from both the highway and the regional road for Negorski Banji. Parking is free, in front of the spa and on the service street in the spa complex. Picking up of the starting number will be done from 9:00 am at the start-finish in the spa park opposite the restaurant. The start of the first round is scheduled at exactly 10 am. The weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday predicts sunny weather with a temperature interval of 0-10 degrees Celsius. The trail is mostly paved MTB trail and dirt road, with very little asphalt. The markings are red flags and red road signs placed ten meters apart. Due to several days of rain, the paths can be muddy, just in case, bring two pairs of running shoes with a different type of footsole. The most successful Backyard Ultra runners aim for a rest time of 14 to 18 minutes, attempting to run 6,706 km in 42 to 46 minutes. 6.7km = 1 Round 40km = 6 Rounds 100km = 15 Rounds 161km = 24 Rounds Closed tents with a total square footage of 72m2 will be placed in the start-finish plane, where there will be heating and which will serve for rest and recovery before each new round. There will be a complete refreshment station with water, tea, electrolytes and juices, fruit, mild and salty snacks and snacks, bread, ajvar, cheese, as well as meat and vegetable stew. But we still ask you to bring your own food and liquids as a supplement to share with other runners - let's make it a friendly atmosphere. In terms of equipment, we advise you to wear autumn-winter running clothes, bring a spare change of clothes, don't forget headlamps (spare batteries or a charger is a must, there are electrical sockets) and you don't need hiking poles. Of course, take personal hygiene, first aid, plasters, bandages, vaseline, emergency blanket and everything you normally need for an ultra-marathon. You can run without any mandatory equipment, for example without a water bottle, without a backpack, without a cell phone, etc. Also, if you have one, bring camping chairs, a table and a bed possibly, maybe your own tent if you want privacy, a blanket for the night and a plate, glass and cutlery. Take a bathing suite and a towel so that after the race you can regenerate your muscles in the extraordinary healing spa water (entrance to the pools is charged). The toilets from the Negorski banji restaurant are available for use by all participants (50m away from the start), but also while the kitchen is working, food and drinks can be ordered from there. Helpers Motivate your helpers to write banners, take cheerleading props, play music on loudspeakers, dress up, have fun. Advise them to dress in winter clothes. We would like to ask you to pay special attention to the traffic signals installed at the intersection near Negorski banji, because there will be a road crossing twice in each lap during the race. Have fun and great success! For more additional info: punksbackyardultra@gmail.com or on mobile, viber, whatsapp +389 71 246 423 Dejan Krle, race director |
